Dr. Charles Amjad-Ali

Dr. Amjad-Ali is the former Martin Luther King, Jr. Professor for Justice and Christian Community at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is ordained as a presbyter of the Church of Pakistan and was the director of the Christian Study Center in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Prof. Amjad-Ali has received the honor of being invited by the faculty of Arts at the University of Western Cape to hold the prestigious Desmond Tutu Chair of Ecumenical Theology and Social Transformation in Africa, as a visiting professor from 15th July to 30th August, 2013. He was chair of the Urban Rural Mission of the Commission on World Mission and Evangelism of the World Council of Churches (WCC), and is a member of the Christian-Muslim task force of the Lutheran World Federation in Geneva, Switzerland. He obtained a master of divinity and a doctorate in theology and political theory from Princeton Theological Seminary.
