Nora is an organizer and currently the President of the Board of Directors of the Centro de Derechos Laborales in Bryan, TX. As a woman and immigrant worker, Nora has faced many challenges in the workplace. She worked in the utility industry for 16 years and was a victim of sexual harassment and wage theft. She organized her coworkers and discovered they have the power to change the system of oppression.
In 2013 she volunteered for Brazos Interfaith Immigration Network (BIIN) and served as a liaison with the workers and the community. The next two years she became the vice president of the Board of Directors of BIIN.
In 2015 the Centro de Derechos Laborales (Labor Rights Center) was created and Nora was elected President of the Board of Directors. Nora is organizing poultry workers at Sanderson Farm in Bryan, TX, and she is the liaison with the allies especially with the Poultry Coalition, NELP, OXFAM, Justice and Equality in the Work Place which is an alliance with DOL, OSHA, and Latin-Americans Consulates.
