As part of the Interfaith Immigration Coalition, IWJ sent this letter to members of Congress, urging them to pass a "clean" DREAM Act as a first step towards Protection For All and fixing our broken immigration system.

Dear Members of Congress,
At Interfaith Worker Justice, we believe that labor has a sacred bond with the dignity of all people. However we labor, our work contributes to the creation of community, the richness and diversity of culture, a chance for every human to connect in fellowship with one another.
We write you today in good faith, with the hope that you will remember the grace and goodness in the promise of our nation’s generosity enshrined on our Statue of Liberty and in our Constitution.
With this in mind, we urge you to support passage of a “clean” DREAM Act as a first and powerful step in realigning the immigration laws of this nation with the founding principles and rich traditions of America’s welcoming.
We ask you to commit to move quickly from passage of a “clean” DREAM Act to further steps to offer Protection for All 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States today.
We urge you, regardless of party, to engage in this process without rancor and to minimize political hot-button issues that only serve to generate unfounded fear, anger, and resentment between older-generation and newer-generation immigrants.
That means no walls. That means no more border militarization. That means no more roundups. That means no more Muslim bans.
The future and legacy of our great nation rests in your hands. Truth be told, it is in dire need of mending and healing. You can be a part of that healing today by starting the process to fix our monstrously broken immigration system with the passage of a “clean” DREAM Act as the first step towards Protection for All.
Many blessings be upon you as you weigh these decisions that will affect the lives of millions and millions of working people and their families.
And rest assured that however you invoke a faithful and holy spirit, your God is watching.
