A headline in today's USA Today pretty much says it all:
CEO pay soars while workers' pay stalls
The article tells of corporate executives getting huge pay raises and increased benefits while unemployed workers continue to suffer. It even notes that while profits are flat and the US economy sputters, the CEO's get more money because they cut costs and got rid of workers.
States and local governments persist in letting workers go, cutting benefits, and even denying them their basic right to organize and bargain collectively. Even paying the unemployed their Unemployment Insurance benefits is being taken away. All a result of corporations and banks stripping $8 trillion out of our communities, taking huge government bailouts, and not paying their fair share of taxes.
What a way to run a country!
