Dates

The Leadership Summit begins with dinner on Saturday, June 13 and ends with dinner on Monday, June 15.

IWJ Student Internship Training begins with lunch Tuesday, June 9 through dinner on Monday, June 15. (Only for students accepted into IWJ's student internship programs).

IWJ/NDLON Workers Center Network Meeting begins with breakfast on Saturday, June 13. (Invitation Only)

Location

The Summit will be held at Tulane University in New Orleans.

Guests can stay at the University's Aron Residence Halls or a union hotel See the lodging section for more information.

The meeting rooms, dining facilities, and designated prayer spaces are in the Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life. Meals are cafeteria style.

Registration

The registration fee covers all summit activities, including all meals and materials. There is a separate charge for lodging (see below).

Early bird registration (before April 15) is $115.
Regular registration is $130.

Daily rates are $50/day.
 
How do I register?

First, download and print a registration form from the IWJ website.

Then, either pay with a credit card and mail or fax the form to the office OR pay with a check and mail the form to the office.
 
Will I receive confirmation of my registration?

Your registration is not confirmed until IWJ has received payment. IWJ will send you a letter confirming your registration and a receipt acknowledging payment within two weeks of receipt of registration. If you provided an e-mail address, IWJ will send confirmation via e-mail.
 
What are IWJ's policies on cancellations, refunds and transfers of registrations?
Cancellations

Cancellations made on or before May 1, 2009 will receive a full refund. Cancellations made on or before May 15, 2009 will receive a 50 percent refund. No refunds will be made for cancellations on or after June 1, 2009. Cancellation notice must be made in writing via fax or mail. Registrants who paid by check will receive their refund by check. Registrants who paid by credit card will receive a credit on their credit card.
 
Room Assignments

There is space on the registration form to name preferred roommate(s) in the 3, 4, and 5 bedroom apartments. Feel free to fill a suite!

Changes to room or roommate assignments may be requested until Friday, May 29, 2009 (two weeks prior to the summit). IWJ does not guarantee the ability to make changes to room assignments, but will accommodate requests as able.
 
Replacements / Transfers

If you are unable to attend for any reason, you may transfer your registration to another person without penalty. Simply send a copy of your confirmation letter, a cover letter stating your request and a completed registration form from the person replacing you to the address or fax number below.

Lodging

Guests will stay at the University's Aron Residence Halls. Aron consists of three, four and five bedroom apartments and all are completely furnished. Each apartment has two bathrooms, central heat/air conditioning, closet organizers, cable TV and Internet access, local phone connection, and all-electric kitchen appliances including dishwashers. There is a laundry facility, and social lounge within the complex and several outdoor grills in the courtyard.

Single rooms are available for $40 per night. Double rooms are $30 per person, per night.

Make reservations via IWJ at the time of registration. There is space on the registration form for roommate(s) preference. Lodging registration will be held in the lobby of  Willow Street Dorms. This building is across the street from the Aron Residence Halls.


There is also one union hotel in New Orleans. If you wish to stay here you are responsible for making your own arrangements.

Getting There

Which airport is most convenient?

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is 9 miles away from the summit site. The site is accessible by car or taxi. See below for directions.
 
How do I get to Tulane University Uptown Campus (the summit site) via car or taxi?

Parking near the university is limited, use of taxi or public transportation is highly recommended.

Driving From I-10
• As you enter the downtown area, follow the signs to Hwy. 90 Business/West Bank
• Exit at St. Charles Avenue/Carondelet Street (do not cross the bridge)
• At the second traffic light make a right onto St. Charles Avenue
• Follow St. Charles Avenue for four miles
• Turn right at Broadway Street
• Turn right at Freret Street
• Turn left at McAlister Drive

If going to Aron Residence Halls:
• Turn right at Willow Street (Aron Hall will be on your left)

If going to Lavin-Bernick Center:
• Turn left at Drill Road (Lavin-Bernick Center will be on your left)
