Labor Day Pledges
Labor Day weekend is a time congregations reflect on the significance of work and labor in the society. It offers an opportunity to lift up the shared values between unions and religious communities. And, Labor Day weekend should be a time when people in congregations do something concrete to help workers who are struggling to find a job, be paid all their wages or improve working conditions. Below are three pledges congregations can use to invite their members to sign in support of current worker struggles – wage theft, immigration reform and jobs. Choose one or offer all three as options for getting people more involved in worker justice.
